A program for students in Years 3-6 which runs once per week for one term. This is an ‘opt in’ program to support students who would benefit from learning a hands-on skill outside the classroom environment. Students work in a small group of between 5-6 students and form a team. Mr Nilbett (who loves bikes) facilitates this program which involves pulling apart second hand bikes in need of repair and putting them back together in good working order. When the group finish the bikes, they look like new! The bikes are then donated to local charities who distribute them to families in need. Students learn first-hand how a bike works and how to maintain it in good order. This program also supports the development of communication and teamwork skills.
