STEM is an interdisciplinary subject encompassing Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This year, students at Sacred Heart Primary School are engaging in a dynamic and hands-on STEM program designed to inspire curiosity, problem-solving, and innovation.
The focus areas for 2025 include:
- Biological Science: Exploring animal and plant adaptations as well as life cycles.
- Digital Technology: Developing coding skills through block programming using SPHERO robots.
- Physical Science: Investigating forces and electricity, with practical applications including the design and construction of balloon-powered cars and solar-powered houses.
- Design Technology: Leveraging digital tools to create original designs, which students will then cut and apply to real-world projects.
Through these integrated units, students build essential 21st-century skills, apply their learning in creative ways, and deepen their understanding of the world around them.
